Barrie Tent & Awning has sold retractable awning systems sourced from either Italian or French suppliers that are assembled here in Canada for the last four decades. While one of our three most popular fabric lines is manufactured in the United States, we also have alternate sources from Spanish and French suppliers that we have offered side-by-side for decades as all three acrylic awning fabrics are milled from the same base thread and share identical limited manufacturer's warranties

Barrie Tent & Awning has a range of retractable awning products for you to choose within our central Ontario service area. Our sales consultants are available to come to your home to go over these options with you. They will show you actual samples of the large range of fabric options that, along with adding shade, can also add appeal to your outdoor space that matches your personal tastes. Note that retractable awnings are designed to provide shade and are not to be used in heavy rains or winds.

SPACE - Motorized Retractable Canopy
This is your best option for locations that experience high winds but still want the option of having a retractable shade. This product is attached to a building and has aluminum legs up to 12’ high to support the retractable shade or can be mounted above an existing pergola. The product is powered by a Somfy® motor that is controlled by a hand remote and comes with a 12’ long grounded plug. This product is not designed for winter use. Support legs require either a wood deck, concrete pad or new concrete footings. This product is not designed for medium to heavy rains* or winter used
*NOTE: This product can be installed with limited slope and therefore should not be used in any amount of rain

Our Sunpitch awning is available with cross-arms that are ideal for small spaces and where you need an arm projection more that the awning length. Mitjavila 250 Full Cassette Awning
This is a motorized full cassette-style awning for lengths as small as 7’1” wide.
When closed all the components including the fabric are protected from the weather. This awning does not have a fabric valance. Note that due to the tight tolerances in its design this awning can only be installed on solid and flat wall surfaces that will not affected by expansion/contraction and warping. Note that this product is only available with the motor, including the hand remote and white plug-in cord for an exterior outlet. Please note that all awnings should not be left out unattended and are designed for sun shade and not rain.
